Sliding tackles are not allowed. Deliberate sliding tackles will result in a yellow card. Accidental or otherwise is down to the referees discretion. Players are allowed to slide to intercept passes or keep the ball in play.Goalkeepers are allowed to go to ground at any time.
Substitution is by rolling subs. Players coming on must wait until the player coming off is off the field of play. Players can come on and off as much as they want.
Yellow Cards and Red Cards are in operation and Sin Bins will be enforced.
Yellow cards result in 4 minutes off the pitch
2 Yellow Cards result in a Red Card
Red Cards result in the player being sent off and given a minimum one week ban. More weeks if the referees recommend it, i.e for violent conduct
2 Red Cards could result in a further ban dependent on the offences
Last minute 'no shows' without prior notice by teams will result in teams still having to pay for the evening or being ejected from the tournament altogether if deemed appropriate. Edinburgh Corporate 7s should be contacted at least 12 hours before kick off either by email or phone. Please remember that you will be letting down the opposing team by not contacting us and it cuts down the chance of arranging a 'bounce' team to take your place
If your opposition calls off we will try to get you a friendly.
Players who engage in violent or threatening behavior, players who verbally abuse teammates, referees or spectators, and players who disrespect and disrupt games will subject to suspensions oroutright bans.We reserve the right to dismiss any player from our leagues who does not conduct themselves in accordance with our Player Pledge
Rosters
Teams rosters may be as small or as large as the team like, as long as the team fee is fully covered by participants.
We allow a max of 10 players per team for the fixture
During regular season, play teams may pick-up registered players from other teams as substitutes. This should only be done should the team not have enough of its own players present at the games. Captain discretion is requested in these cases—we request that team captains are considerate of the level of play in any given league when recruiting substitutes.
Teams will be given a set of strips with numbers and logo's. Teams should wear these strips for matches. Should colours clash then bins will be provided
Equipment
Footwear – Only astros, mouldies or trainers are allowed on the astro. No blades or studs. Any footwear is allowed on the grass summer pitches
Balls, goalkeeper gloves, bibs will be provided at each match
First aid kits are at every match including ice packs should they be require
Edinburgh Corporate 7s is not responsible for any items lost or stolen during games or at field sites.
Regular Season Schedule
Schedules will be created based on the amount of teams playing in each league. While we will make every attempt to reschedule games lost for weather related reasons, it is possible for a few games to be lost because of inclement weather. The league makes no ultimate guarantee of any certain number of games- If conditions beyond the control of the league are present, including but not limited to, excessive inclement weather conditions.
Teams cannot reschedule games. Only the Edinburgh Corporate 7s have the authority to reschedule a game.
Reschedule Requests: Requests by teams to alter the schedule after it is posted require the agreement of all teams affected, and are not final until approved by us. However, it should be understood that we will try our best to fulfil adjustments requests
Edinburgh Corporate 7s reserves the right to change times during the course of the season, as needed. Every attempt will be made to give as much advanced notice as possible to affected teams.
Forfeit Policy
If a team needs to forfeit a league game, they must alert a minimum of 12 hours before a scheduled kickoff. Confirmation of forfeits should be sent to andymiller@edinburghcorporate7s.com or text 07811461419
If a team shows up in good faith but for some reason is unable to field a full team they will not be subject to a penalty.
Teams who do not alert District Sports of a forfeit within 3 hours of their match will be subject to a $75.00 penalty. Monies collected for forfeits will be donated to one of the league’s charitable partners.
League Standings
Game statistics (wins and losses) will be recorded and posted on the Edinburgh Corporate 7s web page. Teams are encouraged to review their respective League Standings page periodically. The team captain should notify the League Administrator of any errors.
A 3-0 loss will be posted for a team that forfeits a game.
Fans and Spectators
Spectators are allowed and encouraged to attend games.
Certain facilities have limits on the number of people allowed on the field at any point in time.
We ask that all affiliated players and fans respect the specific rules set forth by individual facilities.
Fan and spectator behavior is ultimately the responsibility of the team captain.
Any fan or spectator who is verbally abusive, enters the field of play, or is disruptive to gameplay in any way will be asked to leave by referees.
Pets
Pets are not allowed on any of the the premises
Referee Decisions
Edinburgh Corporate 7s considers the in-game decisions of referees to be final.
While we appreciate and welcome feedback on all elements of our league, including referees, challenges to both calls and non-calls will not be reviewed or overturned by league management, nor will referee decisions be considered as justification for a game to be replayed.
